VAT In this creative gilding workshop you will learn: Frame design with gilding and color techniques Decorating a wooden box with metal leaf finishes Creating decorative patterns using Kölner Signcoll and Archicoll Applying Kölner Miniatum on canvas for contemporary gilding art At the beginning of the workshop, we focus on the exciting interaction between matte and glossy gilding techniques. Using Kölner Instacoll and Kölner Archicoll, participants create an individually designed decorative frame enhanced with Kölner Caselo for unique color effects and modern surface finishes. As another creative project, a wooden box is refined with metal leaf application. You will learn how decorative surfaces can be customized through the combination of paint, stencil techniques, metallic accents, and modern gilding methods, resulting in a unique gold-effect artwork. In the next step, we work with Kölner Signcoll, Kölner Archicoll, and selected stencils to create expressive decorative patterns and artistic surface designs, perfect for creative interior decoration, mixed-media artwork, and luxury design accents. Using the Kölner Art Line Fine Detail Kit – Kintsugi, we create delicate gilded details that celebrate and enhance imperfections instead of concealing them. In addition, participants will explore the use of Kölner Miniatum, a special adhesive for fine calligraphy on paper and the artistic gilding of personal handwriting. The final project focuses on painting on gold leaf surfaces, where traditional gilding craftsmanship meets contemporary creativity. Using brushes and paint on elegant gold backgrounds, participants create expressive and luxurious artworks with unique artistic character. Genuine Silver on Rolls are especially appropriate for gilding of lines, but also for large-surface gildings. Genuine Silver is pressed onto a approx. 21 m long tissue paper roll. The roll is optional available from 5 up to 110 mm. Suitable only at oil technique (oil gilding). Useable only for the interior field; protective coating necessary.  For technical reasons, colour and other deviations may occur between web images and original product. Due to the wide selection of roll width, only 11 different width can be offered in the online shop. More roll width on request.

Adhesive for powder gold, suitable for the interior and exterior field. Permacoll Base P is applied with a soft brush. Depending on the thickness of the coating and environmental conditions, powder gold can be applied to the sticky film after approx. 15-60 minutes. Gilding in the interior can be burnished with agate stones. The workpiece has to be coated with 2 layers of Kölner KGGG Fond, before gilded and burnished.The surface can be burnished after 24 hours.Available packaging unit: 100 ml, 500 ml, 1.000 ml

  Painter Shell Silver (approx. 8 gram) is genuine silver powder with metal powder and bound with gum Arabic. Painter Shell Silver is used just like watercolour pans, by first wetting with water and then applying it with a  brush.  

State-of-the-art technology and the strictest quality standards are reflected in the brilliance, economical consumption, and excellent workability of our powder gold. Powdered silver is used both in restoration work and in technical applications (e.g., in aerospace technology). Powder gold in flake form, particle size < 45 μm. Powder gold flakes and powder silver flakes are applied to the special adhesive base for powder gold, “Kölner Permacoll P,” either using a dry spray applicator (for economical use) or with a brush (for dusting). Weather-resistant gilding offers advantages over traditional leaf gilding, especially in the case of deep undercuts or very small objects. Application: The adhesive base “Kölner Permacoll P” is applied generously with a synthetic hair brush and immediately dusted with powder gold. It is recommended to coat only small areas at a time. After drying, all fine details of the substrate become visible again. Even the finest engravings are preserved. The open time is very short, enabling fast working. After a drying time of 24 hours, the powder gilding can be burnished with an agate polishing stone to smooth the surface and adjust the level of gloss. A matte-to-gloss finish is therefore possible. Gilding with powder gold is significantly more scratch-resistant than leaf gilding and, from 23 karats, weather-resistant. Available in 1 g, 2 g, 5 g, or 10 g packages. Special packaging sizes and custom colors available upon request.  

  Genuine Shell Silver is genuine pure silver powder, which was formerly delivered in seashells, hence the origin of the name. It is bound in gum arabic and can be dissolved in water and applied with a brush. Genuine Shell Silver is used just like watercolour pans, by first wetting with water and then applying it with a  brush Available packaging: small apporx. 1 gram, medium approx. 4 gram, large approx 8 gram
